Five elected Board of Trustee members provide for quality educational opportunities in Modoc Joint Unified Schools. They act in accordance with the requirements of California and federal laws, while remaining responsive to the unique needs of the community. The Board delegates the daily operation of the district to the Superintendent.
Board Terms and Elections
Board of Trustee members are elected every two years at large for overlapping four-year terms by registered district voters on a non-partisan ballot. Candidates must be registered voters residing within the boundaries of the district.

The public is always welcome to attend a board meeting. Board meetings are held monthly with open sessions beginning at 6:00 p.m. Below is the schedule of the regular board meetings.

Board Meetings
All meetings are held at the District Office Board Room located at 906 West 4th St., Alturas, CA. Meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. with adjournment to closed session immediately thereafter. Open session begins at 6:00 p.m
