Welcome to Modoc Joint Unified School District

Modoc Joint Unified School District is a K-12 District which offers an elementary school, a middle school, a high school, a continuation school, two community day schools, adult education, as well as one small rural school located in an outlying area. In all schools, a low pupil-teacher ratio is a big bonus as well.

LCAP Parent Advisory Committee

MJUSD LCAP Parent Advisory Committee Applications Due September 4
The Modoc Joint Unified School District (MJUSD) along with other California school districts is transitioning to the new Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) funding model, radically changing how schools are funded in the state of California. LCFF provides new decision-making power to local school districts to act based on the needs they see for students. In addition, this shifts California from treating funding as an input to support students to a resource that is linked to performance expectations.
To ensure that parents have a voice in the process, a Parent Advisory Committee has been created to advise the district in the creation of its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which will dictate how MJUSD will spend the money allocated under LCFF. The deadline for parents to submit an application to serve on the LCAP Parent Advisory Committee is Friday, September 4, 2015. The Parent Advisory Committee will review the district’s draft and final LCAP as determined by state law.  The commitment is for the 2015/16 school year, though one can serve multiple years if selected.
Applications are available here or in the MJUSD District Office located at 906 W. 4th Street in Alturas. Completed applications may be submitted via email to ccrenshaw@modoc.k12.ca.us or delivered to the MJUSD District Office by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015.
