Amy Welch Named Intern Principal of Alturas Elementary School

Modoc Joint Unified School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Amy Welch as the new Intern Principal of Alturas Elementary School for the 2025–2026 school year.

Mrs. Welch brings a deep commitment to student success, staff collaboration, and community engagement. She has served Alturas Elementary with distinction in several leadership capacities, including as MTSS Coordinator, Summer School Teacher, and Parent Night Coordinator. Her work ethic, integrity, and strong relationships with students, families, and staff have made her a valued and trusted member of the school community

“I have had the great privilege of working alongside Amy during my time as Principal, and I can say with absolute confidence that she is a natural leader who is ready to take the next step. She leads with quiet strength, humility, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is best for students. As an Intern Principal, Mrs. Welch will complete her administrative credentialing while continuing to lead and serve the Alturas Elementary community. Her solutions-oriented mindset and her collaborative spirit position her well for success.
