🎉 Welcome back, students! We are excited to see everyone back on campus tomorrow and ready for a strong finish to the year! 📚✨The tardy bell rings at 8:05 AM! ☀️ Please note that the MHS Open House and final parent meeting of the year are being rescheduled. A new date will be shared soon. 🗓️ When we meet, this will be an important time to discuss your student’s progress, celebrate strengths, and talk through “do-betters” as we head into the final stretch. 💬💪 The parent meeting will also focus on end-of-year activities and expectations. ✅🎓 We will also include an Admin Q&A session with Mr. Hughes and Mrs. B as part of Open House. 🎤 And a quick note to each class: 🎓 Seniors — What legacy do you want to leave behind at MHS? 🔥 Juniors — What tone do you want to set for your SENIOR year? ⭐ Sophomores — How will you step up and set the standard for the classes behind you? 🌱 Freshmen — How will you grow, get involved, and make a positive impression at MHS? Modoc-Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community! 💜🤍💜🤍💜🤍 :::

Champions! 🏆 Your Modoc Boys are the winners of the 1st Annual Spring Breakout Tournament! The Braves battled through more rain than shine and came out on top with wins over Mazama, Loyalton, Burney, and Henley. What a run, what a team, and what a way to represent Modoc. Coach Lewis and his coaching staff are incredibly thankful for our parents, community, supporters, and volunteers who helped make this tournament a reality. Well done, Braves! 💜 #modocvictory #wearethechampions

BRAVES… this is what academic domination looks like. 🏆🧠💜 Today our Modoc High School Academic Decathlon team—coached by the steady, brilliant Mr. Jack Eddy—showed up and showed OUT at Round 2 Modoc Academic Decathlon: ✅ 1st Overall ✅ Dominated the medal count ✅ Won the Super Quiz ✅ Kaitlin earned 1st in individual points 👑 ✅ Hit the District benchmark and then some: 32,000+ points (minimum is 30,000) ✅ Qualified for STATE 🎉 Coach Eddy shared: “The kids did great! They placed first overall, dominated the medal count, won the super quiz and Kaitlin placed first on individual points. They earned enough overall points to qualify for State.” MHS is so proud of the work behind this win—hours of prep, teamwork, and grit. Y’all are proof that being a BRAVE isn’t just a motto… it’s how you live. It’s a privilege to be a Brave. Next stop: STATE. 💪✨ Drop a 💜 to celebrate our Acadec crew + a 🙌 for Mr. Eddy! #ModocHighSchool #MHSBRAVES #AcademicDecathlon #ItsAPrivilegeToBeABrave #AllInAllYear #StudentSuccess #RoadToState

Subject: MAP Testing Begins Monday—Here’s How You Can Help

Dear Braves,

Starting Monday, February 9, students will begin NWEA MAP testing, which will continue through the following week. These important assessments help us understand how your child is growing in reading and math, and they guide our next steps as educators.

Here’s how you can support your student during MAP testing:
✨ Make sure they get a good night’s sleep
✨ Encourage a healthy breakfast
✨ Avoid scheduling appointments or absences during the school day

MAP tests aren’t timed, and students will test on different days—so being at school every day really matters.

As always, thank you for sharing your children with us. When schools, families and communities work together, kids grow and everyone wins.

With appreciation,
K.B.

Braves, Please review the Dress Code Policies. (Handbook is attached) The weather is getting colder and the need to bundle up is fast approaching. Remember, pajamas and blankets are not allowed at school. If you need warm clothes, let the counseling office know and we will do what we can to make it happen. Parents-please help students follow the policy and dress appropriately. As always, call us with questions. Thank you! Modoc Joint Unified School District extends a heartfelt thank you to Radiowell for the generous donation of 20 radios to support safety and communication across our schools.

Through this grant, APD, CHP, and MCSO have the opportunity to house a radio at their offices to strengthen emergency coordination. The remaining radios will be used to replace broken units, support new staff, and provide essential access to volunteers and temporary campus helpers, including coaches, classroom volunteers, and traffic support.

👏 Special thanks to Kevin Marcussen for writing and securing this impactful grant.

Thank you, Radiowell, for investing in the safety and connection of our students, staff, and community! 💙📻 https://www.radiowell.com/
